                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSURE OF VARIOUS STREETS IN THE DOWNTOWN
                   AREA, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, ON
                   SUNDAY, APRIL 25, 1993, FOR THE "DOWNTOWN
                   CRITERIUM" BICYCLE RACE UNDER THE
                   SPONSORSHIP OF THE NORTHSHORE EXPRESS
                   BICYCLE CLUB, UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
                  
                   
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       temporary closing of the northbound parking lane and through lane 

       nearest the east curb of Market Street between 4th Street and 2nd 

       Street, 2nd Street between Market Street and Lookout Street,
       Lookout Street between 2nd Street and 4th Street, Lookout Street
       ramp between Riverside Drive and 2nd Street, the two eastbound
       lanes of 4th Street nearest the north curb between High Street 
and
       Market Street, Walnut Street between 4th Street and 2nd Street,
       and 3rd Street between Lindsay Street and Market Street on 
Sunday,
       April 25, 1993 from 6:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. for the presentation 
of
       the "Downtown Criterium" Bicycle Race under the sponsorship of 
the
       Northshore Express Bicycle Club.  The sponsor is responsible for
       the installation and removal of all traffic control devices in
       accordance with the traffic control plan attached hereto and 
shall
       provide at all times an access lane for emergency vehicles.
